It was 4 years ago ...

It was 4 years ago ...

One sad morning in the winter, which you were thinking it was another day of errands ... but it was not ...

"Have you heard the terrible news?" ... They say many have died and buried under the collapsed ceilings ... "This is terrible considering the evil cold of the winter in Bam ..."

"Many have lost all their family members, we need volunteer help of student organizations to be sent to the region immediately." and ... there were lines of volunteers from all across the country.

"We are going to need tents, canned foods, water, blankets and many more. Anyone can help please?" ... Even foreign rescue teams from many countries had arrived and brought their aids through Kerman Airport.

Continuous heart-breaking sirens of ambulances and nonstop sound of C-130 engines serving to air-transfer the many casualties to Tehran and many other cities for available hospital treatments ...
Mass burial of many who were killed ... burying them in trenches, so fast without having enough time for any ceremony or for their relatives to recognize them ... rescue search for the missing ones, place by place ... Tragic scenes we all went through ...

Those days were passing by in front of our eyes like a horrible nightmare ...

But ... Today, after 4 years from the earthquake ... Bam and its many residents are still in need of help ...

Dear Hossein,

Thank you for your post regarding Bam Earthquake. That catastrophic disaster is unforgettable ... In fact, a more horrible disaster is when our people forget those days, when our government, researchers, students, and all other responsible individuals and organizations forget what happened in Bam on December 26th, 2003.

I clearly remember ... It was indeed hard and intolerable for me to see those children who missed their families, friends, and home just in a glance, or those mothers and fathers that carried the dead bodies of their children ... WHO CAN FORGET IT ...

We have a lot to do ... we are all responsible ...

Thank you again Hossein jaan.
